AWBL Winter League Canceled

Confirming some long-running rumors, the American West Baseball League’s planned winter/developmental league was canceled recently.  Likely it was canceled for several reasons, mostly due to competition from other winter & developmental leagues occurring currently or soon, including the: California Winter League, Texas Winter League, Florida Sunkist League and the upcoming Freedom Winter League as well as the Pecos Spring League in March.

  1. Ahhh, such a shame. Good thing I had not bought any tickets yet. 😉 They should concentrate on getting the summer league off to a good start anyway, if they have any hopes of surviving the first year anyway. haven’t seen a schedule yet, nor any individual web sites. Guess they cannot afford that yet anyway.

Why did Gary Templeton leave Maui for Newark?…of all places.
