PBL Tryouts Offer a Pathway to Professional Baseball with Development Opportunities and Guaranteed Draft Picks.

The Pioneer Baseball League (PBL) announced today its 2024 post-season award winners, recognizing the top performers throughout the 2024 season. This year’s awards are headlined by Missoula PaddleHeads outfielder Adam Fogel, who was awarded the league’s Most Valuable Player as well as Rookie of the Year. Ben Ferrer, a starting pitcher for the 2024 Champions Yolo High Wheelers, earned Pitcher of the Year while Billings Mustangs’ reliever Jonathan Haab received Reliever of the Year. PaddleHeads infielder Roberto Pena from Caracas, Venezuela was awarded International Player of the Year and Yolo High Wheelers manager Billy Horton won Manager of the Year for the second consecutive year.

Bob Uecker, the legendary "Mr. Baseball," passed away at the age of 90 after a prolonged illness. A cherished figure in the world of sports and entertainment, Uecker's remarkable journey began in 1956 with the Boise Braves in the Pioneer Baseball League, where he played 53 games before moving on to the Eau Claire Braves. He spent another five seasons in the minors before making his Major League debut with the Milwaukee Braves in 1962.

The Yuba-Sutter High Wheelers are excited to announce 2024 Outfielder Jose Gonzalez has signed a contract with the Houston Astros organization. Gonzalez, originally from Spring, TX, was one of the original 26 members of the 2024 Pioneer Baseball League Champion Yolo High Wheelers.
