Chris Coste is one of the “heroes” of independent baseball from the 1990’s. He played for leagues and teams which no longer exist, and he made it to the Major Leagues with the Philadelphia Phillies after several years in the minors. He also wrote two books about his time in the minors.
Although he is not with a team this year due to recovering from injury, he has been working as an analyst for Comcast Sportsnet this season. Here is a recent interview he did with PhillyBurbs.com:
He mentions the possibility of signing with the Atlantic League once he is healed, so it will be interesting to see where he ends up this season.
