UTICA, Mich. – Patrick Mills and Fox Leum each smashed a home run to lead the Westside Woolly Mammoths (19-14) over the Utica Unicorns (14-15), 11-5, on Friday night in front of a packed crowd at Jimmy John’s Field.
Leum went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Mills ended the night with two hits, four RBIs and two runs scored. Livingston Morris and Scott Combs also had two hits for the Mammoths.
On the mound, Beau Atkins tossed 3.1 innings, striking out five, scattering three hits and allowing one run, earning his first win of the season.
For the Unicorns, Phil Matulia made his USPBL debut, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Catcher Felix Aberouette and third baseman Lucas Goodin brought in the other two runs for Utica.
