Utica Unicorns 12 AT East Side Diamond Hoppers 6 BOX SCORE AND GAME STATS By Adam Rickert July 6, 2016 The Utica Unicorns opened up this week of USPBL action with a bang, scoring six runs in the second inning and cruising to a FINAL SCORE win over the Eastside Diamond Hoppers on Wednesday night. After scoring on an error in the first inning, the Unicorns busted the game wide open in the next frame. Only one earned run, however, was charged to Diamond Hoppers starting pitcher Jalen Miller as his team proceeded to make two more errors in the second. Miller’s lone earned run came in the form of a home run hit by Unicorns right fielder Brandon Rawe to lead off the second inning. A ground ball hit by Ian Yetsko with two on and two out should have gotten the Hoppers out of the inning with the damage kept to a minimum, but shortstop Ryne Willard airmailed his throw, allowing two runs to score. Miller proceeded load the bases for Tyler McVicar, who cleared them with a three-run double. “I was really late on everything in my first at-bat, so I tried to start a little earlier,”…
