BOX SCORE AND GAME STATS By Don Drysdale – June 5, 2016 On Sunday, Birmingham-Bloomfield first baseman Nic Wilson did his best superhero impression as he hit his third home run in as many games, but it was not enough as the Beavers fell to the Eastside Diamond Hoppers by a score of 7-3 on Superheroes Day at Jimmy John’s Field. Leading the way for the Diamond Hoppers offensive attack was DH Tyler Booth, who was 4 for 4 on the day with two RBIs. Booth, who is now hitting .571 on the young season, reached base in all five of his plate appearances, as he also drew a walk. Also chipping in was CF Alex Santana who was 2 for 4, including a 2-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie the score at three. Santana would later come around to score to give the “Hoppers” a 4-3 lead after six. The game remained close as the Diamond Hoppers took a 4-3 lead into the bottom of the eighth inning, but that’s when they put the pedal to the metal and scored three more runs to put the game on ice.
