BOX SCORE AND GAME STATS By Don Drysdale – June 19, 2016 On Sunday, Nic Wilson became the first United Shore Professional Baseball League player to hit two home runs in the same game as the Birmingham-Bloomfield Beavers defeated the Utica Unicorns by a score of 10-7 in front of a sold out crowd at Jimmy John’s Field. Wilson has been the talk of the USPBL so far this season as he has now hit seven home runs in nine games for the Beavers. Not only is he hitting for power, but Wilson has a .345 average, which ranks second in the USPBL behind Corey Caswell, who is hitting .429 for the Eastside Diamond Hoppers. The Beavers did not take long to impose their will, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning, both coming when Wilson hit his first home run of the game. Utica, who had lost four games in a row going into the game, refused to go down without a fight as they came back and scored a run in both the third and fourth inning to tie the game 2-2.
