BOX SCORE AND GAME STATS By Adam Rickert Birmingham-Bloomfield Beavers 4 AT Utica Unicorns 2 UTICA — Four runs in the top of the fifth were all the Birmingham-Bloomfield Beavers needed to cap off a 4-2 win over the Utica Unicorns on Saturday night. The Beavers ripped off five hits in the critical inning, highlighted by a game-tying, two-run triple by shortstop DJ Martinez that brought home Miles Williams and Austin Leyritz. Martinez, who was moved up to the leadoff spot in the Birmingham-Bloomfield lineup with Dave Pepe getting the night off, went 2-for-4 tonight and also scored on a Dan Kennon double that put the Beavers ahead. By collecting the three-bagger, Martinez mimicked Unicorns left fielder Austin Crutcher, who had a two-run triple of his own the previous inning to put his team ahead. It would turn out to be Utica’s only scoring play on the night. Beavers starting pitcher Randy Wynne picked up his third win of the year. He surrendered two hits on five hits and a walk while racking up four strikeouts in six innings. Forrest Koumas tossed two perfect innings out of the bullpen while picking up three strikeouts in the process and Michael Dolloff…
