BOX SCORE AND GAME STATS By Adam Rickert Utica Unicorns 7 AT Eastside Diamond Hoppers 9 UTICA — The Eastside Diamond Hoppers scored nine runs in the first three innings Wednesday night en route to a 9-7 victory over the Utica Unicorns. Starting pitcher Jeff Conley got early support from his team as it scored three runs in the first inning, five in the second and one more in the third for good measure. Conley was spectacular himself, going seven innings and allowing just two earned runs five hits and four walks while racking up nine strikeouts. The top of the order led the way for the Hoppers as Luke Ortel and Chris Power, the first two hitters in the order, combined for seven hits and five runs scored. “In the last couple of games, Ortel and me have been working really hard to just get on base,” said Power. “We both get on base, Kam (Stewart) does something cool, (Alex) Delgado does something cool, we run around and just have fun with it.” Ortel was 3-for-5 with a run scored while Power notched four hits (including two doubles), scored three runs and picked up an RBI.
