BOX SCORE AND GAME STATS By Adam Rickert Birmingham-Bloomfield Beavers 2 AT Eastside Diamond Hoppers 5 UTICA — Alex Delgado blasted his first USPBL home run Sunday afternoon, helping his Eastside Diamond Hoppers grab a 5-2 victory over the Birmingham-Bloomfield Beavers to hop into first place in the USPBL. After Kam Stewart put the Hoppers on the board with a two-out RBI double in the bottom of the sixth, Delgado stepped in with runners on second and third with his team still facing a 2-1 deficit. Delgado, who has delivered in clutch situations all season long, belted a line-drive homer over the left field wall to give Eastside its first lead of the afternoon. “It’s about time, that’s all I’ve got to say,” laughed Delgado. “It’s been a long time without a home run and I’m just trying to help my team out.” The Hoppers added another run in the seventh as first baseman Chris Allen came home to score on a sacrifice fly by left fielder Luke Ortel.
