BOX SCORE AND GAME STATS By Adam Rickert Birmingham-Bloomfield Beavers 1 AT Utica Unicorns 7 UTICA — Brandon Rawe homered twice and collected four RBIs as his Unicorns broke a three-game losing streak by beating the Birmingham-Bloomfield Beavers, 7-1, Friday night at Jimmy John’s Field. The win was Utica’s first since Donny Murray’s no-hitter on July 10. That game was also the last Beavers loss, as Birmingham-Bloomfield saw a four-game win streak come to an end Friday. Manager Greg Grall toyed with the Utica batting order before Friday’s game, moving shortstop Ian Yetsko to the leadoff spot and right fielder Chris Cruz to the two-hole. “We switched things up,” said center fielder Brandon Rawe, who smashed two home runs in the win. “at the beginning of the day we said we were starting over and it’s the second half. “We took that mentality into the game and onto the field, and it worked out for us,” he added. The moves paid immediate dividends, as Yetsko and Cruz led off the first inning with back-to-back singles.
