UTICA, Mich. – Colby Johnson hit a three-run home run in extra innings and right-handed pitcher Zack Jones pitched 5.0 innings, allowing one run and striking out five as the Utica Unicorns (13-5) defeated the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers (6-11), 4-2, in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader on Saturday night at Jimmy John’s Field. Drue Galassi and Noah Ultsch each added one RBI on the night. Leading the Beavers at the plate was Cristian Laboy, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Austin Shumaker also went 2-for-3.
