ROCHESTER, Mich. – Offense led the way last week in the United Shore Professional Baseball League as 10 runs were scored per game and the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers and Utica Unicorns each went 2-1 to highlight This Week in the USPBL. Ryan Smith led the charge for the Beavers, batting .545 and hit the game-winning home run on Sunday to lift the Beavers over the first-place Diamond Hoppers, 4-3, en route to being named USPBL Player of the Week. Right-handed pitcher Cody Brown had a quality start for the Unicorns, throwing 7.0 innings and struck out 10 batters in a 4-3 victory over the Diamond Hoppers on Thursday night. USPBL games are played at Jimmy John’s Field in historic downtown Utica and fans can purchase tickets as low as $6 (lawn seats) or $12 (grandstand tickets) here. #YourSummerDestination
