UTICA, Mich. – Right-handed pitcher and United Shore Professional Baseball League strikeout leader Luis Contreras (2-1) took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and allowed one hit over 7.0 scoreless innings and struck out 11 as the Eastside Diamond Hoppers (3-3) ended the Utica Unicorns (6-2) five-game winning streak in dominating fashion, 12-0, on Saturday at Jimmy John’s Field. Centerfielder Pat Adams homered to start the game with a 410 foot blast to left-center field off the netting of the scoreboard and finished 2-for-3, with four runs scored, two RBIs and two walks. Third baseman Wesley Jones went 3-for-4, with three runs scored and drove in a run, and local product Freddy Jehle finished 2-for-4 with a run scored.
