UTICA, Mich. – The Utica Unicorns (17-16) defeated the Eastside Diamond Hoppers (16-14), 4-3, in late innings in front of a sold out crowd at Jimmy John’s Field on Friday night.
Patrick Baggett proved to be the hero of the night for the Unicorns. Baggett ended the night going 2-for-4 with one run scored and two RBI, one of which put the Unicorns in the lead in the top of the ninth inning.
Ryan Enos and Ethan Krizen also ended the night with two hits. RHP Matt Colucci earned his second win of the season, while Ben Krizen picked up the save.
For the Hoppers, Todd Mattox had a three hit evening and Whit Hughes went 2-for-3 with one run. Bryant Shellenbarger had one hit, scored one run and hit a sac fly, scoring Ben Ferguson.
