UTICA, Mich. – Justin Gomez went 1-for-3 with one run scored and two RBI, while Donovyn Curiel drove in two runs and finished 1-for-3 to lead the Utica Unicorns (2-0) to a 6-3 win over the Westside Woolly Mammoths (0-3) in front of an enthusiastic crowd on Saturday’s first game at Jimmy John’s Field.
Right-handed pitcher Conner Tomasic earned his second win of the season, throwing 3.0 innings, allowing two earned run and struck out two.
Right-fielder Francis Florentino had two runs for the Mammoths, going 2-for-3. Priamo Lozada had two RBI of this own.
