This Week in the USPBL – Episode 1

ROCHESTER, Mich. – The United Shore Professional Baseball League produces a weekly show during the season (May 17-Sept. 7) that touches on the highlights from the previous weekend’s games at Jimmy John’s Field in historic downtown Utica. The show includes highlights and testimonials.

All four teams played two games over Championship Weekend, giving them a 1-1 record across the board. The 2023 Champions – the Utica Unicorns – received their Championship Rings before Friday night’s opener.

The Westside Woolly Mammoths look strong as both the Player and Pitcher of the Week comes from their roster. Starting center fielder, Anthony Sharkas, finished the weekend with a .375 batting average, .500 slugging percentage and three RBI. Out of the bullpen, Trey Jones tossed 5.0 innings with seven strikeouts and zero earned runs.

The Hoppers proved their power with Matt Goehrig hitting the first home run of the 2024 USPBL Season. Ben Ferguson showed his strength by having the top exit velocity of 101.0 mph and the longest hit ball with a distance of 374.6 ft.
