[#item_full_content] In 1987, baseball players arrived in Salt Lake City to play for the Trappers, an unaffiliated team in the lowest level of the minor leagues. All had been passed over by professional scouts, and the Trappers represented their last shot at getting to the big leagues.
The players knew they would have to do something special to earn a ticket to the majors.
What they did was both unexpected and incredible. The unlikely band of outcasts gelled into a powerhouse that won an astonishing 29 games in a row, the longest winning streak ever produced at any level of professional baseball. It was a feat that captured the world’s imagination and earned them a spot in baseball’s hallowed Hall of Fame.
Yet not a single player made it to the major leagues.
