UTICA, Mich. – The Westside Woolly Mammoths (17-13) took down the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers (13-20), 9-5, in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader at Jimmy John’s Field.
For the Mammoths, Nick Pastore and Fox Leum both hit home runs. Pastore finished the night with three RBI and Leum ended the evening with two runs scored and one RBI. The Mammoths scored nine runs on three hits, with everyone in the lineup crossing home plate except for one.
Offensively for the Beavers, Christian Ortega went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs scored and two RBI. Matt Piotrowski had two hits of his own, and Pablo Ruiz went 3-for-3 with two RBI.
Zach Zaborowski picked up his second win of the season for the Mammoths, and Dyson Johnson took the loss.
