UTICA, Mich. – The Eastside Diamond Hoppers (11-5) defeated the Westside Woolly Mammoths (8-6), 2-0 as the race for first place in the league heats up.
Starting pitcher Ryan Korolden pitched a solid 7.0 innings for the Hoppers. Korolden struck out struck out nine and allowed four hits and no runs on the way to his second win of the season. Bailey Martin went 2-for-4 with two RBI, bringing in Blake Vandiver and Jake Shier. Nick Bastain earned his first USPBL save.
For the Mammoths, only four players had hits, and six men were left on base.
