It was an exciting night in the Frontier League, with three late comeback wins and a home run derby victory as well! Get caught up on all the great games with a recap of all the highlights here: The Southern Illinois Miners scored two runs in the eighth inning to beat the Schaumburg Boomers 3-2. The game started as a pitcher’s duel between Trent Johnson and Orlando Rodriguez, with both pitchers shutting out the other team for the first five innings. The Boomers then struck first in the bottom of the sixth with a sacrifice fly by Matt Bottcher and a Quincy Nieporte solo home run giving them a 2-0 lead. The Miners would score a run on a sacrifice fly in the seventh from Arturo Nieto to make it 2-1, and would then take the lead in the eighth. Nolan Earley hit an RBI single that tied the game…
