Windy City Holds Off Washington 6-4

WASHINGTON, PA – The ThunderBolts took an early lead and withstood a late charge from Washington as they took game two from the Wild Things 6-4 at Wild Things Park Wednesday afternoon. Riley Krane’s RBI single in the first inning scored Tim Zier and gave the ThunderBolts (13-27) an early lead for the second straight day. They were able to extend that lead with a pair of home run sin the second. Blair Beck and Jonathan McCray each hit solo shots to make the score 3-0. Connor Bach started for the Bolts and pitched well through four innings, allowing only two hits and keeping the Wild Things (25-16) off the scoreboard and the Bolts added another run to their lead in the fifth. Axel Johnson led off that inning with a single and Matt Brown singled him home. Washington got on the board with five straight two-out baserunners in the bottom of the inning. Two walks and three singles contributed to the rally with RBIs coming from Kyle Pollock and Reydel Medina.
