WASHINGTON, PA – The Washington Wild Things (2-1) completed a three game series at Standard Bank Stadium against the Windy City Thunderbolts (1-2) Sunday, May 14. The Wild Things shutout the Thunderbolts 5-0 in the outing. RHP Chase Cunningham (1-0) earned the win for Washington. Through eight innings, Cunningham allowed only two hits and produced five strikeouts. He also allowed no Thunderbolts to cross the plate. RHP Zach Strecker threw the final inning on the mound – allowing only a solo hit. LHP Brady Muller (0-1) earned the loss for the Thunderbolts. The Wild Things scored in the first when Bralin Jackson and Kyle Pollock knocked in runs. Washington continued offensively in the third when Jace Conrad and Jackson recorded RBIs. The final Wild Things run came in the sixth when Kenny Peoples-Walls knocked in Jackson. The Wild Things will be back in action Tuesday, May 16 at 11:05 a.m. EDT when they visit the Lake Erie Crushers.
