Washington Wild Things’ outfielder Chris Grayson and Joliet Slammers’ starting pitcher Liam O’Sullivan were named Frontier League Players and Pitcher of the Week, respectively as chosen by Pointstreak, the official statistical provider of the Frontier League and the Independent Professional Baseball Federation. Grayson, in his sixth season of professional baseball and his first season in the Frontier Professional Baseball League managed to get 11 hits in his 24 at bats this week. To start off the week, Grayson went 2-5 on Tuesday against the Beach Bums, where he managed to get 1 double, and 2 RBI. Grayson then followed up this performance with 3-7 the rest of the series with the Beach Bums. In this series Grayson also got 2 stolen bases to bring his season total up to 15. In the weekend series verses the Boomers Grayson went 6-12 in his at bats. He managed to rack up an impressive 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored. Before joining the Frontier League, Grayson played collegiately at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee where he was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 13th round of the 2011 MLB June Amateur Draft.
