AVON, Ohio — The Lake Erie Crushers, presented by Mercy, scored a pair of runs in their final at bat to win their fourth straight game in a 2-1 victory over the Normal Cornbelters at Sprenger Health Care Stadium on Saturday night. The win for the Crushers (30-34) was their fourth in a row, marking their second longest winning streak of the season, while the loss for the Cornbelters (31-34) marked their fourth straight. Runs were very tough to come by, as the starting pitchers on both sides stole the show. Both offenses had very limited opportunities to score throughout the night, as the Crushers had just a pair of base runners reach scoring position through the first seven innings while the Cornbelters had just a pair during that stretch as well. Craig Lepre led off the eighth inning for the Cornbelters with a single to shallow left. Ty Morris laid a sacrifice bunt down to push him over to second base.
