Lots of late scoring, including a home run derby, fueled Thursday’s Frontier League action. Read about all of it right here with our nightly recap: The Schaumburg Boomers rallied with four in the eighth inning to capture a 6-2 victory over the Joliet Slammers. Quincy Nieporte knocked in Chase Dawson with an RBI single in the first, but Joliet tied it with a Lane Baremore sacrifice fly in the third. In the fifth, the Slammers took the lead on a groundout from Baremore, but the Boomers tied the game with a Matt Bottcher RBI single. The game stayed tied at 2 until a four-run inning by Schaumburg in the eighth. Clint Hardy was hit by a pitch to force in the go-ahead run. Another run came in on a wild pitch, and Dawson plated two more on another RBI single, making it 6-2 Schaumburg. Jake Joyce got the win, striking…
