There were several strong offensive showings and plenty of runs scored Friday night. Read about how all the action unfolded, with a brief recap on each game: The Florence Y’alls defeated the Gateway Grizzlies 5-3. Trevor Craport’s two-run home run in the first got the Y’alls on the board first. Dustin Woodcock followed with a two-run home run of his own for the Grizzlies in the fifth to even the score at 2-2. Florence’s Joe Lytle then hit a two-run shot to take a 4-2 lead, and Rodney Tennie hit an RBI single in the sixth to make it 5-2. Nate Etheridge added an RBI single in the eighth for the Grizzlies’ third run, but the Y’alls bullpen finished them off. Starter Edgar Martinez got the win for the Y’alls in seven innings pitched.
