TWO CANADIANS JOINING CAPITALES

The Quebec Capitales have announced the signing of two additional Canadian players. Both British Columbia natives, pitcher Jake Polancic and outfielder Tristan Graham will be in their first experience in independent baseball after stints in affiliated baseball. Right-handed pitcher Jake Polancic was selected in the 11th round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks out of Yale Secondary School in Abbotsford, BC. At 21, he already has four seasons of professional baseball, compiling 99 innings of work over 59 games during his time in the minors, during which he mostly worked as a reliever. In 2019, he gave up only two runs in 19.2 innings at low A-level, striking out 16 batters for the Hillsboro Hops of the Northwest League. Polancic will battle for a spot in Quebec’s starting rotation in 2020. Outfielder Tristan Graham will compete for a regular position in manager Patrick Scalabrini’s roster…
