TRYOUT CAMP RESUMES TUESDAY, FOLLOWED BY DRAFT

The Frontier League’s annual Tryout Camp and Draft completed its first day of action on Monday at The Corn Crib in Normal, Illinois, with 168 of the 340 players in attendance invited back for game action on Tuesday. Tuesday will feature an intra-squad game beginning at approximately 9:15 AM. The game is open to the public with no admission. Concessions will be served at The Corn Crib throughout the day. Each pitcher will throw to three hitters (two pitchers face four hitters to equalize the at bats), with the position players split into odd and even teams. In order to balance the defense, players 329, 517, 525, and 531 have been assigned to the even teams. The game action will continue until all pitchers have thrown. Catchers each receive two at bats, while the remaining position players receive three at bats each. In the event that the leadoff batter does not reach base, a runner will be placed at first base for the second hitter to simulate more game-like conditions for the defense.
