Traverse City Tops Lake Erie In Soggy Series Finale

TRAVERSE CITY, MI- The Traverse City Beach Bums(31-31) moved their record back to the .500 mark as they danced through some rain drops to defeat the Lake Erie Crushers(35-28) by a final score of 4-1.   Lake Erie struck first with an RBI single by Cody Lenahan for a 1-0 lead after one. In the second, Noah McGowan led off with a walk after two batters later, Alec Olund doubled down the left field line, moving McGowan to third. With Ryan Kemp at the plate, McGowan scored on a wild pitch, tying the game at one. With two outs in the third, Steve Lohr walked then Connor Oliver hit a two-run homer, his sixth of the season, for a 3-1 Traverse City lead.   In a sixth inning interrupted by an 18 minute rain delay, Kendall Patrick led off with a single down the left field line then moved to second on a wild pitch. After an Alec Olund walk, Ryan Kemp bunted to move Patrick to third and Olund to second. Orlando Rivera followed with a fly ball to deep left field, scoring Patrick on the sacrifice fly, extending the Beach Bums’ advantage to three.   Reinaldo Lopez picked up another…
