Traverse City Holds Off Florence to Get 5-4 Win

FLORENCE, KY- The Traverse City Beach Bums(27-27), for the second straight game, used some two out, ninth inning magic, this time against the Florence Freedom(27-27), winning tonight’s series opener by a final score of 5-4. After a scoreless first inning, Florence broke the ice with an RBI double by Ricky Ramirez Jr. The Beach Bums responded in the top of the third to take the lead. Noah McGowan led off with single to left then Ryan Kemp sacrificed him to second with a bunt. Isaac Benard tied the game with an RBI single to center for a 1-1 score. Will Kengor gave the Bums the lead on a two run rocket over the right field wall for his ninth homer of the season. In the bottom of the inning, Florence started to chip away with an RBI double by Jordan Brower to pull within one. Florence tied the game up in the sixth on a Keivan Burges sacrifice fly. In the top of the ninth, with two away, Luke Lowery reached on an infield single that caromed off of the front of the mound. Connor Oliver then bashed his first home run as a Beach Bum, and second…
