The Schaumburg Boomers are pleased to announce the hiring of Hitting Coach Tony Medina. Medina will be entering his first year on Manager Jamie Bennett’s coaching staff. Medina, the native out of Melrose Park, IL, was previously with the Houston Astros and Kansas City Royals organizations. He attended St. Patrick High School in Chicago, IL. After graduating high school Medina attended Cornell College where he spent time as a pitcher and a catcher during his college career a part of the Rams’ baseball team from 2012 to 2016. During his time in college and after, Medina also spent some time as an assistant coach for St. Patrick’s High School, before joining the Astros minor league system as a Player Development assistant in 2017.
