The Frontier League’s 28th season got underway on Thursday night. Here is a recap of the night’s action: The Tri-City ValleyCats earned a 2-1 comeback victory over the Sussex County Miners at Skylands Stadium. There were only two hits allowed in the game, and it went scoreless into the bottom of the sixth after the Miners scored once following an error. Tri-City then came back in the final inning, with a game-tying triple by shortstop Carson Maxwell. Maxwell then scored on a go-ahead RBI single by right-fielder Avery Tuck, and Trey Cochran-Gill collected the save in the ninth. ValleyCats right-hander Carlos Sano struck out seven and allowed only two hits in five and two thirds innings. Meanwhile, Sussex County’s Tyler Alexander recorded a single game franchise record 12 strikeouts in the loss. The Florence Y’alls went on a back-and-forth race with the Washington Wild Things and won 10-9.…
