This weekend will remember 20 years of existence of the Windy City ThunderBolts/Cook County Cheetahs in the Frontier League. There will be a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the team and stadium. Commissioner Bill Lee will be at the games to help commemorate the event. On Friday May 31, prior to the game the stadium which was originally known as Hawkinson Ford Field, now Ozinga Field, will be honored to enshrinement in the Frontier League Hall of Fame. It was one of the first two stadiums to be built exclusively for the Frontier League. River City’s stadium will be honored this year as well. The game on Saturday June 1, will be a continuation of the tribute to the first regular season game was played by the Cook County Cheetahs in what was then Hawkinson Ford Field, as they took on the River City Rascals in 1999.
