SAUGET, Ill. – The ThunderBolts opened up a 12-0 lead before holding on late for a 13-9 win over the Gateway Grizzlies, their sixth straight win, at GCS Ballpark Monday night. Keenyn Walker put the ThunderBolts (26-20) on top on the second pitch of the game with his fourth home run of the year. The Bolts added another run in the first when they loaded the bases and Corey Bass was hit by a pitch. The score remained 2-0 until the fifth, when Tim Zier followed back-to-back walks with an RBI double. Riley Krane would later score on a wild pitch and Zier came home on Ransom LaLonde’s single, making it 5-0. The fifth started a string of four straight innings the Bolts scored in as they added four in the sixth. Walker hit his second home run of the night, a two-run shot, and Zier hit a solo homer. Coco Johnson added to the lead when he doubled and scored on a wild pitch. The lead ballooned to 12-0 with a three-run seventh. Johnson drew a bases loaded walk, Kyle Wood hit an RBI single and Krane brought in a run on a groundout. Gateway (12-36) made things interesting…
