ThunderBolts beat Grizzlies on Alamo’s walk-off

CRESTWOOD, IL – Tyler Alamo’s walk-off double ended an 11-inning battle between the ThunderBolts and the Gateway Grizzlies at Ozinga Field Sunday night. It was the Bolts’ second extra inning win this week. Alamo started the scoring nine innings earlier when he hit his ninth home run of the year, a solo shot in the second inning. That homer gave Hayden Shenefield an early cushion as he retired the first ten batters of the game. The Grizzlies (31-39) tied the score, though, in the fourth when Brent Sakurai doubled and Luke Lowery singled him in. The Grizzlies added another run in the sixth inning as Connor Owings tripled and came in on a Luis Roman sacrifice fly, giving them their first lead of the game.
