SUSSEX COUNTY’S JUAN KELLY AND EVANSVILLE’S BRADEN SCOTT TAKE HOME WEEKLY AWARDS

Sussex County Miners infielder Juan Kelly and Evansville Otters left-hander Braden Scott have won this week’s Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively. These awards are chosen by Pointstreak, who is the official statistical provider of the Frontier League. This is Kelly’s first time winning the Player of the Week award and the second award in consecutive weeks for Sussex County, after Chuck Taylor claimed the award last week. Kelly finished the week with seven hits, including a double, a home run, and eight RBIs. He hit .500 in five games, which was tied for best in the league this week, and he drew six walks. His OPS of 1.422 was also among the best in the league. The 27-year-old is in his first season in the Frontier League, after spending the 2020 season with Trois-Rivières in the Can-Am League.
