The Washington Wild Things have agreed to terms with two players, INF Kane Sweeney and OF Rashad Brown, for the #Celebrate15season. Both players will travel to Washington in late April for Spring Training with the club. Sweeney joins the Wild Things after playing two seasons with the New York Yankees. Appearing in over 100 games, Sweeney is a career .290 hitter with 71 RBI. The 6’3” first baseman was selected in the 29th round of the 2015 MLB Draft out of Morehead State University. Sweeney tortured Ohio Valley Conference opponents his junior and senior year, hitting 34 doubles, 24 HR and 110 RBI. “Kane had nearly a dozen offers on the table to play; he and his wife selected Washington. The connection our staff made with Kane is the sole reason why he chose to be a Wild Thing,” said General Manager, Steven Zavacky. “We believe there is an upside to his game that we can unleash.
