Slammers Unwrap Win on Christmas In July Against Gateway

JOLIET, IL – As game one of the Slammers v. Grizzlies series got under way, Slammers lefty Tyler Jandron took to the hill. Joliet came out swinging and were hungry for a victory. After facing 4 Grizzlies pitchers, the Slammers would go on to win game one 9-3.The top of the first would see the Grizzlies chalk up an early run. Jose Rosario hit an RBI single driving home Andres Regnault. Gateway’s 1-0 lead wouldn’t last, however, as the Slammers put two runs on the board in their first turn at bat. Dylan Hardy hit a single out to right field, and after an error by the Grizzlies catcher, Scott Holzwasser crossed the plate with Hardy advancing to second.
