JOLIET, IL – The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy prepared for the rubber game with the 2nd place Thunderbolts on an overcast evening where a thunderstorm watch encompassed the Will County area. TJ Santiago was the starting pitcher for Windy City as recently acquired Conrad Wozniak made his first start as a Slammer. After overcoming a 7-0 deficit Wednesday night, the Slammers bats remained hot as they scored often against the Windy City pitching staff. Dom Iero and Travis Bolin drove in back to back runs in the 2nd inning to make it 3-0 Joliet. With the bags loaded in the 3rd inning Spencer Navin who was last night’s hero doubled home two runs and then Bolin walked to reload the bases for Luis Diaz. Diaz deposited a gift of a pitch into the gap in right center field to clear the bases to really pull away from the Bolts. Windy City struggled to muster up any sort of offense as Joliet continued to get a great start from Wozniak who allowed them to cruise to an 11-2 blowout victory over Windy City.
