SLAMMERS REVEAL POW/MIA CHAIR OF HONOR

On September 4, 2016, the Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy revealed the newest installation to their ballpark – a POW/MIA Chair of Honor. The chair is a permanent structure at the stadium and serves to remind fans of unforgotten prisoners of war and veterans missing in action. The Joliet Slammers were joined by Rolling Thunder and Cantigny VFW Post 367 for a pre-game ceremony prior to the Slammers last regular season game of 2016. “Rolling Thunder’s primary mission is to educate the public on Prisoner of War and Missing in Action issues (POW/MIA),” said Dominic Ruggerio, Vice President of Rolling Thunder IL I. “We install the Chair of Honor as a reminder that we have not forgotten! The public can be reminded that there are still those who are unaccounted for and we are working very hard to ensure our governmental officials continue to work at finding out more about these servicemen and women who are in this POW/MIA status.” Lou Smith, the Commander of the Cantigny VFW 367 Post, added “It is our honor along with Rolling Thunder to dedicate this most honored chair in honor of our country’s servicemen who were prisoners of war and missing in…
