Joliet Slammers’ first baseman Marc Flores and Traverse City Beach Bums’ starting pitcher Kramer Champlin were named Frontier League Players and Pitcher of the Week, respectively as chosen by Pointstreak, the official statistical provider of the Frontier League and the Independent Professional Baseball Federation. Flores, in his third season of professional baseball, and his second season in the Frontier League managed to get 12 hits in his 24 at bats this week. To start off the week, Flores went 4-5 against the Rascals, with 5 RBI, 1 home run, 1 double, and 1 run scored. He then followed up this impressive performance with an 1-3 night on Thursday. In the weekend series verses the ThunderBolts Flores went 6-12 with 1 home run, 2 RBI, and 3 runs scored. Before joining the Frontier League, Flores spent his time in the Arizona League with the Chicago White Sox organization. Originally from Salinas, California the 24-year-old was drafted in the 30th round of the 2014 MLB June Amateur Draft from University of Hawaii at Manoa. Flores will get the honor of starting the 2016 Y’all-Star game in Florence, Kentucky next week for the East Division and is tied for the second place lead…
