SILVER CROSS FIELD TO HOST IHSA CLASS 3A AND 4A BASEBALL STATE FINALS FOR NEXT FIVE YEARS

Joliet, IL – The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy have earned back the Illinois High School Class 3A and Class 4A Baseball State Finals at Silver Cross Field. The decision came late Monday, June 13 after the IHSA Board of Directors met in Bloomington, IL to decide on the venue for the next five years. Silver Cross Field has hosted the finals since 2007, in conjunction with the Joliet Slammers and Joliet Township’s Central High School and West High School. The extension covers five years and guaranteed Silver Cross Field the tournament from 2017 through 2021. “Silver Cross Field is a great venue for championship high school baseball in Illinois,” said IHSA Executive Director Craig Anderson. “The surrounding community has really come out to support the tournament and teams throughout the years.” Over the course of Friday and Saturday’s games, Silver Cross Field welcomed over 9,000 fans.
