Schaumburg Boomers infielder Quincy Nieporte and Southern Illinois Miners left-hander Gunnar Kines have won this week’s Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively. These awards are chosen by Pointstreak, who is the official statistical provider of the Frontier League. Nieporte takes home the award for the second time this season, winning it the week of June 7 as well. He finished the week with eleven hits, including three doubles, three home runs, and ten RBIs. He hit .500 in six games. The 26-year old is in his second season in the Frontier League, after spending the 2019 season with the Boomers as well. Before the Frontier League, Nieporte spent time in the organization of the Philadelphia Phillies. He currently leads the league with fourteen home runs and 46 RBIs.
