Thursday’s highlights included a doubleheader with a pair of complete games on the mound, and a walk-off win. Catch up on all the league’s action here: The Schaumburg Boomers swept their doubleheader with the Gateway Grizzlies thanks to a pair of complete games by their starting pitchers. Game one finished 5-1. The Boomers got on the board in the second when Matt Bottcher singled home a run and Dusty Stroup hit a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0. The following inning, Quincy Nieporte hit an RBI single to make it 3-0. In the fourth, Ty Moore scored Gateway’s only run after an error by the catcher, and in the fifth, Matt McGarry hit a solo home run and Bottcher doubled home the fifth and final run for Schaumburg.
