FLORENCE, Ky. — The Florence Freedom, presented by Titan Mechanical Solutions, have announced that the contract of right-handed pitcher Logan Longwith has been purchased by the Colorado Rockies. “We’re excited for Logan and for the opportunity he’s getting with the Rockies,” Freedom manager Dennis Pelfrey said. “It’s tough for us as a club, because he’s a guy who’s irreplaceable. But we’re going to do our best to find somebody who can fill the role, and we wish nothing but the best for Logan, and we think he’s got a big career ahead of him.” In 22 innings pitched over four appearances with the Freedom, Longwith posted a 3-0 record with a 2.46 ERA, holding opposing hitters to a .187 batting average. “I’d like to say thank you to the Florence Freedom for giving me this opportunity. I want to thank (Dennis) Pelfrey, (pitching coach Brian) White and everybody here for taking care of me.
