WASHINGTON, PA – SEPTEMBER 1, 2017 Washington Wild Things’ General Manager Steven Zavacky has joined the American Cancer Society’s Real Men Wear Pink campaign. Zavacky, who moved to Washington County with his family in 2002, says he wants to help save lives from breast cancer, and participating in this program offers him the opportunity to create awareness. “Breast cancer research and treatment has come a long way over the years, and I believe with the continued push for awareness and the continued research, we can beat this wicked disease,” said Zavacky. “I believe early detection and prevention are key.” As the general manager of a minor league baseball team, Zavacky is taking advantage of the opportunity to spread the word among many people….from the league, to the ballpark, to the community at large. “I started wearing pink socks and pink Wild Things’ jerseys for games,” added Zavacky. “People are stopping me to see why, and that gives me the opportunity to spread the word.
