River City Rascals’ outfielder Kyle Gaedele and Evansville Otters’ starting pitcher Preston Olson were named Frontier League Players and Pitcher of the Week, respectively as chosen by Pointstreak, the official statistical provider of the Frontier League and the Independent Professional Baseball Federation. Gaedele, in his sixth season of professional baseball, and his first season in the Frontier League managed to get 8 hits in his 17 at bats. To start off the week, Gaedele went 3 for 5 versus the Grizzlies and managed to get 1 double, 4 RBI, and 1 walk. He followed up this impressive performance with a 3 for 5 night against the Corn Belters on Friday. Gaedele hit 2 home runs, got 5 RBI, and 2 runs scored in this performance. On Saturday, Gaedele continued his hot streak going 1-3 getting another home run, 2 RBI, 2 walks, 1 hit by pitch, and a stolen base. This took his average up to .302 hitting 16 doubles, 1 triple, 13 home runs, 48 RBI, and 23 stolen bases. Before joining the Frontier League, Gaedele spent his time in the Northwest League, Midwest League, California League, and Texas League with the Padres organization.
