The hunt for the River City Rascals to make the postseason for the third year in a row continues Wednesday evening as the Florence Freedom come to CarShield Field for a three game series. This series, beginning at 5:05 p.m. as part of a doubleheader, is the third set between these two western division foes and the Rascals are currently 6-0 against Florence, their best mark against any team in the 2016 season. Currently, the Rascals are on a four game winning streak and sit four games out of the final wild card spot held by the Normal CornBelters. These next six games are huge for River City to gain some ground as the CornBelters are beginning a series with the first place Southern Illinois Miners tonight and then Normal hosts the Rascals this weekend. As for the Freedom, who come into CarShield Field having been outscored 61-19 against the Rascals this year, they are at the bottom of the western division at 31-41 and are 7.5 games back from the final playoff position.
