RASCALS DEFEAT OTTERS IN WALK-OFF FASHION THURSDAY NIGHT

A walk-off RBI single from Robby Enslen in the bottom of the 13th inning capped off a wild five game series for the River City Rascals against the Evansville Otters Thursday night at CarShield Field. The game was tied 2-2 going into extras and ended with the Rascals (40-42) third win a row, 4-3 in the first walk-off win since August 28th, 2015. After neither team scored a run in the tenth inning, the Frontier League International Tie Breaker Rule came into effect which means the player who made the final out in the previous inning begins the next half inning on second base. In the top of the 11th, that runner was Josh Allen and he would be left stranded as Josh Wright retired the next three hitters on a shallow fly out and a pair of ground outs. In the bottom of the 11th the Rascals couldn’t get Josh Silver across to score and the 12th inning was a similar story, but much more stressful for each team. The Evansville Otters had two on with no outs in the 12th inning and Will Schierholz came onto replace Josh Wright. The Otters centerfielder Chris Sweeney was asked to sacrifice…
